Il Fontino, meaning the natural spring, was so named by locals due to the underground water source in the area. The property originally comprised a farmers’ house, cow shed and hay barn and these buildings have been sympathetically restored internally and externally to provide contemporary living, whilst maintaining many of the original features and the traditional rustic charm. The property is now home to five charming apartments, four of which are available as holiday lets, the remaining one being home to the owners’ son.

Each apartment has a fully-equipped kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and ironing facilities. There is also a washing-machine located in the communal laundry room. All apartments are centrally-heated throughout, and feature open fireplaces for warmth and appeal during the winter months. The interiors have been simply decorated and furnished to a high standard and are cool, comfortable and practical.

The property is set on a grassy hill, surrounded by rich farm land, with wooded hills and small villages in the distance. There is a substantial perimeter fence, so children can explore in safety and without wandering off too far. All apartments have the luxury of panoramic views over the tranquil lanscape. Located adjacent to the apartments is a good sized swimming pool (6m x 12m). It has a spill over rim and stairs, and a deep end with a diving board, as well as a terraced area with sun beds and large parasols for shade. It also has a stepped base rim, useful for children when swimming at the deep end. The pool and surrounding patio is cleaned daily by the owners.

Each apartment has it’s own set of table and chairs for “al fresco” dining, where superb views and beautiful sunsets can be enjoyed during the warm evenings. Barbecue facilities are also available for those who also want to cook “al fresco”.
